Our Start

Rise Above’s journey began with a tragic wake-up call. News broke of a series of deaths from drug overdoses due to fentanyl-laced pills in high schools near me. It was impossible to ignore the devastating impact on our community. Witnessing the profound lack of education and awareness about drug misuse among high school students, I felt a pressing need to take action.

Our Mission

Motivated by a desire to prevent further tragedies and to empower my peers with knowledge, I founded this non-profit educational organization. Our mission is to spread awareness about the dangers of drug misuse, provide crucial information on how to recognize and respond to drug-related emergencies, and create a supportive environment where students can learn and discuss these critical issues openly.Through workshops, seminars, informative resources, and peer-led discussions, we aim to educate and equip students with the tools they need to make informed decisions and stay safe. By fostering an environment where the priority is placed on saving lives rather than punitive measures, the act aligns with the broader goal of public health and safety and becomes an instrumental component in dismantling the barriers that have contributed to the distressing surge in opioid-related deaths among Texas adolescents.
